Mar vive en Chile una infancia feliz hasta que la dictadura se instaura y su padre desaparece misteriosamente. Su familia se ve forzada a exiliarse en México y a sufrir el desarraigo y la incertidumbre. Mar decide que no dirá una sola palabra hasta que no vuelva su padre, a pesar de que nadie sabe si está vivo o no, o si puede regresar.
 
Mar lives a happy childhood in Chile until the dictatorship is established and her father mysteriously disappears. His family is forced to go into exile in Mexico and suffer uprooting and uncertainty. Mar decides that she will not say a word until her father returns, even though no one knows if he is alive or not, or if he can return.
