Cecily y Jeremy se alojan junto a su madre y una niña que han adoptado temporalmente en la casa de campo de un tío, mientras estalla la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Cecily and Jeremy are staying with their mother and a little girl they have temporarily adopted at an uncle's country house while World War II breaks out. Both discover the ruins of an ancient castle five centuries old while exploring the forest; a place where time seems stopped.
