Mariel es una niña huérfana que vive con su papá y su madrastra. Ella le escribe cartas destinadas a su mamá reflexionando sobre lo que ella le diría si estuviese con vida. Cuando su padre la envía a un internado, se consuela conversando por internet con un chico que acaba de conocer y a quien desea ver en personar esperando que venga a rescatarla.
 
Mariel is an orphan girl who lives with her father and stepmother. She writes letters to her mother reflecting on what she would say to her if she were alive. When her father sends her to boarding school, she consoles herself by chatting online with a boy she has just met and whom she wants to see in person, waiting for him to come and rescue her.
