Una conmovedora historia en la que una familia se ve forzada a salir de los Estados Unidos hacia México para evitar ser separados. Inspirada en la historia de su padre, la autora recrea la experiencia de miles de ciudadanos mexicanos y mexicoamericanos que padecieron la "Repatriación Mexicana", luego de que el Tratado de Guadalupe Hidalgo anexara gran parte del territorio mexicano a los Estados Unidos. 
 
A moving story in which a family is forced to leave the United States for Mexico to avoid being separated. Inspired by her father's story, the author recreates the experience of thousands of Mexican and Mexican-American citizens who suffered the "Mexican Repatriation" after the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo annexed a large part of Mexican territory to the United States.
