El sexto grado empieza para Merci ignorando todo lo que va a ocurrirle. Lo que sí sabe es que ella y su hermano mantendrán el servicio comunitario para garantizar su beca, y que los retos que tiene por delante pueden ser difíciles; pero ninguno será tan grande como lidiar con los olvidos y los enfados de su abuelo Lolo, su mejor amigo; que ahora se está comportando de modo muy peculiar.
 
The sixth grade begins for Merci unaware of everything that is going to happen to her. What she does know is that she and her brother will maintain community service to guarantee her scholarship, and that the challenges ahead may be difficult; but none will be as big as dealing with the forgetfulness and anger of his grandfather Lolo, his best friend; which is now behaving in a very peculiar way.
